Opera Angelicus Hopefully, the music we create can glorify Jesus and remind Christians of their commitment to Christ, encourage them to further praise him and study his word, and bring believers together. Lifting Him Up Ministries Blackstone Productions Jon Blackstone is a singer, a guitarist, performer and producer. He has produced records, directed film, and written songs with some of Nashville’s best writers. Yet despite his varied talents and accomplishments, Jon Blackstone’s greatest attribute is genuineness. From the serene ballad “My Heart is Stirred by You” to the hard-hitting song from his latest album “Dazed”, Jon offers an intimate and very real view of faith, hope, love and life. In January of 2000, Jon’s debut album Not Dressed for the Occasion was released on True Tunes / Window Records. The album features Jon as artist and producer, as well as an impressive line-up of Nashville based talent. Jon wrote or co-wrote all of the songs on the album including the song Revival, written with Sparrow / EMI recording artist Margaret Becker, and She Thinks it’s Love, written with legendary Nashville writer Troy Seals, who has written songs for Eric Clapton and Ray Charles. Among the session players on the album are Nigel Olsson and the late Dee Murray, both members of the classic Elton John band during the ‘70’s and ‘80s. The album also features the brilliant contributions of John Mark Painter, a highly gifted artist and producer who is one half of the Universal Records recording act Flemming and John, as well as a featured musician and arranger on albums by such artists as Ben Folds, Sixpence Non The Richer and The Indigo Girls. Jon Blackstone has also enjoyed success as a producer and songwriter on several nationally released albums by other artists. Among his recent credits are two albums for the Pamplin Music label, Brett Williams release on Wiseman Records, and Star Song recording artist Linnae Reeves.
Golden Arrow Catholic Music and Media Focus is on setting well-known prayers from scripture and the Church to music to aid in memorization and edification. Songs are catchy and easy to sing along with. Many double as Praise-and-Worship type hymns. BEC Recordings |
